The greater South Bend area is full of good sports! We're home to the East Race Waterway—the first artificial whitewater course in North America, the South Bend Silver Hawks—Single A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and incredibly successful high school and college programs and championship teams—including the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.™

The greater South Bend area plays host to numerous amateur and club competition. From youth hockey to soccer to softball tournaments.

Professional

The South Bend Silver Hawks are a Class A minor league baseball team, affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks, that plays in the Midwest League.

The city of South Bend was awarded a Midwest League franchise in 1987. The team's home park is Coveleski Regional Stadium, built in 1987 and named for Stanley Coveleski, the Hall of Fame pitcher for the Cleveland Indians, who once resided in South Bend. The stadium seats 5,000.

High School

Since legendary coach John Wooden patrolled the sidelines of the former South Bend Central High School, South Bend/Mishawaka has been home to great high school athletics as well as host to numerous state all-star and championships competitions.
