Head to The Exchange Whiskey Bar for an atmosphere straight out of "Mad Men." After you find a warm nook and settle in, order They Took Everything. This bourbon-based cocktail includes a splash of rye, house-made spiced apple shrub and Italian Amaro bitters.

Buzzworthy new downtown South Bend restaurant Fatbird invites you in this winter to try Channel 199, a cheeky reference to the local yule log TV channel. This combination of Redemption rye whiskey, Journeyman OCG Cider liqueur and St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram (among other ingredients) is served warm.

The Hammer & Quill

The Hammer & Quill is a popular spot to warm up near Howard Park. Drop in this winter for The 'Ol Doomsday Daiquiri, a literary-inspired spin on the summer classic. Its combination of Bacoo 8-year Dominican rum, Copper & Kings Intense Café Liqueur and a syrup that includes blackberries and cinnamon is sure to warm the soul.

The Hideaway at the LaSalle
