College Football Playoff in South Bend

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will host the Indiana Hoosiers at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend on Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. in a much anticpated in-state matchup. This is the first game of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff. Here is everything you need to know for Game Day in South Bend.

ON CAMPUS ACTIVITIES

Playoff like a champion with these special College Football Playoff game experiences provided by Experience Notre Dame. Your favorite home weekend events are back, as well as an extensive schedule of special programming for this momentus game on Notre Dame's campus, headlined by ESPN College Gameday! Events kick off on Dec.19 and continue up until the game at 8 p.m. Dec. 20.

PARKING & TAILGATING

Experience Notre Dame has everything you need to know for campus parking and tailgating for Friday's game. You can also consider parking in Downtown South Bend. There are Game Day Express buses and The Link Trail that can get you where you need to be! The Link Trail starts at LaSalle Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Head east on LaSalle Avenue, north on Hill Street, then northeast on South Bend Avenue to join Notre Dame Avenue. The trail will culminate at the intersection of Angela Boulevard and Notre Dame Avenue. Before taking the walk, consider grabbing a coffee or hot chocolate from downtown coffee shops to keep you warm.

TRAFFIC PATTERNS

The South Bend Police Department will have traffic patterns in place to encourage traffic flow in and out of the game. Roadways that are close to campus will turn into one-way streets INBOUND from 4-6:30 p.m. Friday. The OUTBOUND pattern will begin shortly before the end of the game. There will be officers and temporary signage to assist with directions. All major roadways will be maintained if the event of inclement weather. Please use caution and plan for extra travel time.
