As winter begins to drift away, we're heading into the warmer months.
March will usher in spring. That means it's time to get outside, explore and maybe even celebrate one of our favorite holidays. Here are six ideas for things to do in The Bend this March.
St. Patrick's Day Parade
Scheduled for March 16, the St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown South Bend is a fun way to celebrate the holiday. After the parade ends, those lining the streets head to the East Race Waterway for the river to be turned green.
Winter Days at Potawatomi Zoo
With its 2024 season opening right around the corner, Potawatomi Zoo will host more Winter Days this month. Head to Indiana's first zoo on March 16-17 to visit with the animals. Opening day for the 2024 zoo season is set for March 29.
Sugar Camp Days
One of our favorite annual traditions, Sugar Camp Days returns March 16-17 to Bendix Woods County Park as we celebrate the coming of spring by making maple syrup. Visitors can tour the Sugar Bush, learn more about the syrup-making process and explore the park with other family friendly activities.
Experience Broadway in The Bend
Theater lovers might want to spend March in downtown South Bend from March 19-24 for Disney's ALADDIN.
Watch All the Basketball
March ushers in one of the most fun parts of the sports calendar! Games will be on all day as the men's and women's college basketball tournaments get underway. Several sports bars around South Bend and Mishawaka are great for spending a day watching games.
Head Out for a Hike
As The Bend thaws out from winter, everyone wants to head outside. Late winter or the early days of spring are a great time to visit some of our best places for a hike.
