Overview
Founded in 1973, the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association’s mission is to inspire lives through breathtaking performances. From hosting the nation’s largest chamber music competition to working with students directly in the schools, Fischoff is committed to music education. Fischoff's annual National Chamber Music Competition has grown to become the largest chamber music competition in the world and one of the most prestigious classical music prizes attainable today. Over $60,000 worth of prizes are awarded across four divisions during the three-day Competition on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Additionally, Fischoff’s year-round educational programs enrich the musical and cultural life of the community through personal interaction with musicians of the highest caliber. Since 1995, Fischoff’s educational outreach programs have reached over 101,177 children and youth throughout Northern Indiana and Southwestern Michigan, placing a particular emphasis on underserved and at-risk communities.
