Brasserie 23: French Cuisine in The Bend
A locally owned "Parisian Oasis" located in Granger, Brasserie 23 specializes in genuine French faire, fine wine and unique cocktails in a casual bistro, yet upscale dining atmosphere.
Look no further for an authentic French dining experience in the Midwest.
Your meal can start with many options to include a delectable Herb and Chile Whipped Feta with olive oil, mint, pine nuts, pistachios, chile flakes and fresh herbs, or Moules Marinière, PEI mussels with white wine-garlic butter and crusty french bread.
Continue with an Onion Soup Grantinée, traditionally prepared with gruyere cheese and crostini, or the Moroccan Spiced Lentil Salade created with Moroccan-spiced French green lentils, dijon vinaigrette, red onion, tomato, feta cheese and crisp focaccia.

Save enough room for the main event!
Brasserie 23 offers up many special entrées, such as their Short Rib Bourguignon, slow braised with potato purée and hearty red wine sauce, their Dill Beurre Blanc Salmon, pan seared with a dill beurre blanc and accompanied with ratatouille and potato purée, or their special highlighted on the menu — L'entrecôte de Paris, their version of a classic steak frites with their take on the decadent Café de Paris sauce, popularized by the restaurant in 1930s Geneva that bears the same name.
These tasty options are just the tip of the Eiffel Tower.
The focus isn't just on the food for Manager Steven Stelzer. They also really care about their customers and providing a well-rounded experience for them every time.

"We also try to focus on that personal experience because when they come in we know the guest names of the regulars...we get to know who they are. We know their kids, their life stories...and we get to be that place that's their home away from home. They can have that upscale dining experience and a date night, but then they can also just came hang out at a bar and get a cocktail at the end of the night."

Brasserie 23 also offers an extensive wine and cocktail menu. All wine selections hail from France, the United States and Italy.
If you're in the mood for a cocktail, maybe try the "Plane to Paris" (Patron silver, amaro nonino, Aperol and fresh lemon juice) or a "French Frankenstein" (Aviation gin, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau and fresh squeezed lemon juice). They also offer some classics; French 75, Aperol spritz, paloma, mimosas, old fashioneds and likely many things you could dream of.
In addition to their daily menu, Brasserie 23 also hosts a whole schedule of tasting events throughout the year.
"These events that we do are exposing people to new wine, new foods, cocktails...we want to be that place where people come for the fun, new, fresh, trendy things. Try something different. You can go to any chain and have the exact same thing, but here it's going to be different," shared Stelzer.

"We have groups of people that come to every single tasting. Wine dinners, whiskey tastings, everything like that so our regulars even love coming back because they know it's going to be a different experience and they know who we are and what we're about," added Bar Manager, Peyton Cavanaugh.
