Looking for a weekend getaway that offers more adrenaline rush than a relaxed vibe? This is your guide to an adventure-filled fall visit to The Bend.

Navigate the Rum Village Aerial Park

After you've checked out the water, head into the treetops at the Rum Village Aerial Adventure Park in South Bend. This aerial adventure is essentially a series of obstacles between 16 and 60 feet off the ground. They come in a few skill levels — easy, moderate and hard —  and offer a variety of obstacles. Visitors have to tackle ladders, nets, ropes, bridges and even zip lines.

Animal Encounters at Potawatomi Zoo

Visiting the zoo is always fun for all ages. Even more so when you add an up-close-and-personal encounter with some of the animals. Potawatomi Zoo offers up-close experiences with bison, otter, a rhinoceros and sloths. These events are ticketed separately and offer everything from seeing how otters are trained to feeding the bison and petting Masamba, the Southern White Rhino.

Hike the Trails at Potato Creek State Park

Potato Creek State Park is one of The Bend's outdoor gems. You can hike and bike miles of trail, get some speed on the mountain bike trails or head out on Worster Lake. Covering 327 acres, the lake offers kayak and canoe rentals and is well known among fishing enthusiasts.
