Overview
Rising high above campus, the Hesburgh Library is one of the most recognizable landmarks at the University of Notre Dame. Its towering façade features the iconic “Touchdown Jesus” mural (officially titled “Word of Life”) which overlooks Notre Dame Stadium and has become a must-see for visitors and football fans alike. Stretching 132 feet high and 65 feet wide, the mural is crafted from 81 types of stone sourced from 16 countries, making it as impressive up close as it is from across campus.
