The future of civilization rests in the fate of the One Ring, which has been lost for centuries and, complementing its ornamental qualities, could be used to rule all of Middle-earth. Powerful (and often malevolent) forces are unrelenting in their search for it. Fate, though, has placed the ring in the tiny-yet-capable hands of a young Hobbit named Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), who inherits the Ring and steps into legend. Upon becoming the Ringbearer, Frodo picks up a posse and embarks on a daunting task: to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom where it was forged.
