As fall gets closer, it's time to celebrate the last few (unofficial) days of summer. Take full advantage of the time away from work with our list of things to do for Labor Day weekend around South Bend and Mishawaka.

Things to Do for Labor Day Weekend

Fridays by the Fountain

Kick off the weekend by heading to Jon R. Hunt Plaza outside the Morris Performing Arts Center on Friday for live music over lunch. Grab a chair, lunch from a food truck or restaurant and listen to some tunes at Fridays by the Fountain.

First Fridays in Downtown South Bend

September's theme for Fridays is "Dog Days of Summer." You guessed it — downtown South Bend will be full of animal lovers and their four-legged companions. It's a great night to grab a bite to eat and pet some pups.

Cars & Coffee

Visit the museum district from 8-10 a.m. Saturday for a special display of classic cars at  Studebaker National Museum. Coffee and doughnuts (!) are provided. This month features the Michiana Brits car club. Admission to the museum galleries is FREE during the event.

South Bend Cubs Baseball

Another great summer at Four Winds Field, one of the best stadiums in Minor League Baseball, is drawing to a close. The South Bend Cubs take on Lake County all weekend. Promotions include fireworks on Friday and Sunday.

Brew Fest at Tippecanoe Place

Try regional craft beer and listen to live music on the grounds of a historic mansion from 4-9 p.m. Saturday.

 #OnlyinTheBend Parks Pass

Do you want to get out and explore? How about winning some prizes along the way? Sign up for the #OnlyinTheBend Parks Pass, a FREE mobile passport, and you can win prizes for exploring local parks.

Golf

As summer draws to a close, The Bend's golf courses are in fantastic shape. Challenge yourself at the Warren Course at Notre Dame, home to the 2019 U.S. Senior Open, or at any of our out public options.

Farmers Markets

Harvest season is right around the corner, but it's always a good time to browse our farmers markets. The South Bend Farmers Market is a busy spot on Saturdays and the outdoor Mishawaka Farmers Market is a hit on Sundays.

Potawatomi Zoo

Potawatomi Zoo continues to get better and better with new exhibits on the way. Pay it a visit check in on your favorite animals at the end of summer.
