A Pipeline to the Chicago Cubs

The name of our team is no coincidence: These Cubs are a High-A affiliate of the big league squad. South Bend is the closest Chicago Cubs farm team in terms of proximity to the big club, a 90-minute drive or easy train ride on the South Shore Line.

Four Winds Field

Originally built in 1987 and named Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium, Four Winds Field underwent a massive renovation in the early 2010s. It has since been recognized as one of the best ballparks in Minor League baseball. Ballpark Digest named it Best Ballpark in 2017. The ballpark includes the Cubs Den Team Store, United Federal Credit Union Rooftop and other unique spaces.

You will notice construction happening in 2025. Four Winds Field is once again undergoing renovations! Including an entire second level. There are many exciting things to look forward to.

Eating at the Ballpark

Four Winds Field offers up more than hot dogs and peanuts, although these are fantastic options! Elsewhere in the ballpark you can find items like pulled pork sandwiches, SMASH burgers, build-your-own nachos, mac and cheese and Philly cheesesteaks. They also offer healthier options such as grilled chicken caesar wraps and salads. Don't forget the desserts! Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, Big Bear Sundaes, mini funnel cakes, oreo churro bites and so much more.  It's a foodie's delight.

Family Fun

There is way more to do at Four Winds Field for kids than simply watching the game (that's great too!). There is a Fun Zone past the left field bleachers with slides and other inflatables. Down the right field line, you'll find a splash pad that's busy on summer nights. Kids can also visit the batting cages at the 1st Source Bank Performance Center.

Meet the Mascots

A trip to Four Winds Field isn't entirely complete without saying hi to the South Bend Cubs Mascots, Stu and Ivy! Stu is named after the famed Studebaker automobile company that has a large part in South Bend's history. Ivy is a newcomer to Four Winds Field in 2025. As former mascot Swoop the Silverhawk retired, the Cubs welcomed Ivy to join Stu in entertaining baseball fans. Ivy sports a South Bend Blue Sox uniform in honor of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League that called South Bend home from 1943-1954.

Learn more about Studebaker at the Studebaker National Museum, and slide into the history of the AAGPBL at The History Museum, which is also the national repository for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Don't miss Blue South Bend Blue Sox Night/AAGPBL at Four Winds Field April 27!
