Patio season isn't over just yet.
As temperatures drop during fall and into winter, restaurants around The Bend are getting creative when it comes to outdoor seating. Igloos by reservation, heaters in place of umbrellas — if you're more comfortable eating outside right now, there are places for you.

Rohr's at Notre Dame
There are six domes by reservation on the Wind Family Fireside Terrace, making for one of the coziest outdoor dining experiences in The Bend this winter. They're aired out for at least 30 minutes before and after each use.

Fiddler's Hearth
One of our favorite spots when the temperature gets colder is fireside in this downtown South Bend pub. But if you're looking to stay outside, Fiddler's has igloos (pictured above) working on its extended patio. Be sure to call in advance so they can reserve one and set it up.

Parisi's Ristorante Italiano
One of South Bend's most well-known Italian restaurants has two heated igloos available by reservation. The easiest way is to book online. Your stay is capped at 90 minutes to allow for proper cleaning between parties.

The Lauber Kitchen + Bar
The Lauber has one of the biggest patios in South Bend, which makes it the ideal spot for an igloo and a "winter fort." Call or email support@thelauber.com ahead for an igloo reservation. There's a $150 minimum bill requirement and you'll be limited to a 90-minute stay.

Chicory Café - Mishawaka
This downtown Mishawaka restaurant is leveling up one of the area's best patios with igloos you can reserve, heaters and a fire pit for warding off colder temperatures. You might want to ask about the s'mores kits for a little something sweet and warm.

If you're looking for a spot to grab coffee or hot chocolate — try mixing them in a kaffee wein — the South Bend Chocolate Café is your spot. Place your order inside then post up around one of the tables with a "fire pit" in the middle. You can grab a bite to eat too.
