Foodies should make their way to downtown South Bend in the beginning of the month. Restaurant Weeks runs until Aug. 7 with over 20 locally owned restaurants offering up unique new menus at special prices.
Raft the East Race Waterway
There are few thrills like splashing down the whitewater rapids right in the heart of downtown South Bend. Open from early June through Labor Day, the East Race Waterway is a one-of-a-kind experience. Make sure to book your tickets in advance and get the scoop on everything you need to know before you go.
Downtown South Bend's largest event returns Aug. 20! Art Beat is a celebration of visual, performing and culinary arts. You can browse through vendor booths, grab some delicious food and otherwise enjoy the atmosphere as visitors from across the region descend on downtown South Bend.
Shakespeare at Notre Dame
The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival kicks into high gear as the Professional Company puts on a production of the classic story of star-crossed love: Romeo and Juliet. The show's run at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center goes from Aug. 16-28. Tickets can be purchased online in advance.
Watch South Bend Cubs Baseball
Baseball season is in full swing at one of the country's best Minor League stadiums. The Cubs play at Four Winds Field from Aug. 16-21 and Aug. 30-Sept. 4. You can expect fun for the whole family, delicious food and great promotions like Thirsty Thursday and Fantastic Friday Fireworks.
Michiana Renaissance Festival
It's time to grab your garb again and head back in time: The Michiana Renaissance Festival is back! After being canceled the previous two years, this year's event takes place Aug. 27-28 at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds. There will be multiple re-enactment areas, vendors, food and affordable fun for the whole family.
